City residents will have two new after-hours options for health care with the opening next week of two separate facilities.

WNY Immediate Care will open its new urgent care facility Dec. 12 at 2497 Delaware Ave., near Tacoma Avenue, in North Buffalo, marked by a ribbon-cutting Dec. 8.

The facility, operated by Exigence LLC, is the third urgent care service in the city, but is a free-standing, fully staffed facility built at the site of the former Gallagher Printing plant.

In addition to primary care services, emergency department physicians and nurses will treat everything from broken bones and
burns to stitches as well as provide physicals, diagnostics and lab work. Hours of service are weekdays 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., and weekends 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

With the North Buffalo site open, Exigence manages eight urgent care facilities, including five in Erie County, two in Rochester
and one in Texas.

Separately, Buffalo General Hospital will hold a ribbon-cutting Dec. 12 for its new clinic: an after-hours behavioral health clinic at 1010 Main St. near North Street.

The Patrick P. Lee Foundation After Hours Clinic, funded by a $363,746 grant from the Patrick P. Lee Foundation, is designed for individuals needing mental health services or who show symptoms of psychological or social problems that disrupt daily living.

Previously, individuals had to wait for an appointment with their physician or endure long waits at an emergency room for intervention.

The clinic will be open for walk-in services weekdays, 5-9 p.m. and Saturdays from noon-4 p.m.
