Lee Foundation Sponsors Advocacy Training for WNY Foundations
On April 21, 2017, the Lee Foundation sponsored the New York Funders Alliance event, Advocacy 101 for Foundations: Advocating for Advocacy. The objective was to educate and empower foundation staff and trustees on to effectively engage in advocacy efforts and become more confident advocates.
Abby Levine, Director of Bolder Advocacy, discussed the importance of advocacy and the legal parameters governing both public and private foundations. Ms. Levine reviewed the spectrum of advocacy strategies available to foundations and how to effectively engage trustees in this work.
